About the Author
At the suggestion of a friend, I entered my first book into the Women of Faith contest. A Mighty Fortress was a semi-finalist for the 2013 contest and after praying about the opportunity WestBow Press gave me to publish at a discounted price, I decided to publish the book independently on my own. Shortly after making this decision and sending my manuscript to a few beta readers, one of my beta readers asked what the sequel was going to be about. I hadn’t even thought about a sequel, but once the idea was planted in my brain, I came up with ideas for at least six books in the Hymns of the West series. I love to read Historical Fiction, especially Westerns. My goal is to create clean, fun, and challenging Western stories for the whole family. That being said, I don’t gloss over the hard issues, either. When I’m not writing, you can probably find me reading, crafting, playing piano, playing games with my family, or petting a cat (sometimes while doing one of the other things). I live with my family in the Northern Midwest on a hobby farm where I sometimes have to do some goat wrestling or feeding goat kids in the early morning because I’m the only one who wakes up that early. This book has been one of the best I've used throughout my college career. It is super easy to read and the content is interesting. Bidgoli is extremely knowledgeable on the subjects inside and gives helpful examples throughout. Not only did I learn a lot reading the book, the online program it comes with is great! It is super user friendly and it helped with my grade in the class tremendously. It offers flashcards and a concept tracker, but my favorite was the practice quizzes. I would read the chapter first and then test myself after using the online quiz. All-in-all it was a great purchase and I highly recommend it.

This textbook is the best I have seen for MIS. Chapters are well written so that minimal reading is required to learn a great amount of information. Definitions are explained clearly and completely, and can be understood by anyone remotely familiar with technology.Questions at the end of chapters combined with online practice questions are extremely useful study tools that enabled good grades in my course. Making flashcards and studying specific topics was easy with the online study bits feature.With the well explained book and fantastic online features, I would definitely recommend this book to anyone learning MIS.

All of the material in this book is written in a way that any individual studying MIS is able to read and understand the language being used. Also, the real-life cases, situations, and companies are very useful and helpful for the readers to familiarize with the concepts.

Very nice layout for a textbook! Tons of pictures and colorful case studies really bring to light current issues and topics relating to information systems and applications. The online feature is excellent as well especially in studying the material. There are pre-made flash cards on all the vocabulary terms on the website which were very useful in studying the content. This book is up to date on current and upcoming technology applications with interesting case studies. Good informative edition!

About the Author

Troy D. Allen is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at Southern University. There, he teaches courses in African-American History, World Civilizations (Honors), and the History of Ancient Egypt, along with a course on Race Relations. Dr. Allen is the author of many articles, and also serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Black Studies. He recently edited a Special Edition of the Journal of Black Studies focused on the issues of Race, Class, and Poverty in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina
